BA PROGRAMMES

Machine Building Technology (MBT)

MBT is the oldest specialization of the Faculty of Engineering (over 50 years). The graduates of this study programme, mechanical engineers, will be able to design, analyse, manufacture and maintain all kinds of mechanical systems and they will easily find a job in different industrial, research and educational establishments. Graduating engineers are trained to become specialists in areas such as: constructive and technological design, technological process management,machinery operation and maintenance etc.In addition to specialized   knowledge, students will acquire information on computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) and general economics that will give them a wide perspective on the manufacturing, distribution and research of industrial goods.

Quality Engineering and Management

The main objective of the programme is to help students develop skills and competences (general and specific) in designing, implementing, assessement and certification of quality management systems in order to achive excellence in the manufacturing processes and business activities. Graduates will be specialists able to add value to organisations by applying modern techniques and procedures aiming at improving the quality of products and services and, consequently, at meeting consumer’s expectations.

After completing this programme, graduates will be able to:

  • create, implement and maintain procedures on quality assurance and management ;
  • develop and continuously improve quality management systems ;
  • create and implement criteria and methods to ensure the efficient operation and control of the processes ;
  • createorganisationalpolicies and set goals for quality.

Engineering Design

The programme will help students shape and develop skills and competences in designing and promoting innovative products, highly competitive from a technical, functional, aesthetical and economical point of view, in accordance with the principles of sustainable development.  Graduates will acquire practical knowledge neccessary to meet the employer’s expectations and will thus increase their chances to get a job in the field.

After completing this programme, graduates will be able to:

  • draw up product specifications;
  • implement conceptual design in practical problem solving;
  • define criteria to evaluate alternative solutions in order to identify the optimal one;
  • use techniques specific to product modelling and their performance testing;
  • integrateaesthtetic and ergonomic principles into product design and sustainable development.

Management of Industrial ProductsManufacturing

The main objective of the programme is to help students specialize in the industrial engineering field, in performing complex activities related to: a creative implementation of research and problem solving techniques; creating and writing studies and reports that could be published and implemented; keeping in touch with the latest scientific discoveries in the field.

Graduates will be able to:

  • produce and implement technical, economical, and management documentation;
  • use processes, principles, methods and instruments specific to the development of new products and innovative technologies;
  • design advanced technologies, equipment and manufacturing systems;
  • use manufacturing methods specific to different materials (metal, plastic, composites);
  • analyse, design and implement company management, industrial and research projects.

Quality Assurance Strategy for Industry

The objective of the programme is train specialists in the quality field.

Graduates will be able to:

  • implementtheir modern knowledge of managementin industrial, environmental, occupational safety and health systems;
  • design, implement, and audit the quality management system in industrial engineering;
  • design, develop, and implement the quality-environment-occupational safety and health integrated system;
  • fulfill obligations as a management representative responsible for the quality system;
  • organise, implement, and manage quality systems in compliance with ISO 9000 series of standards;
  • perform internal system, product, and process audits;
  • perform second-party audits in compliance with ISO 19011 standard;
  • implement laws and regulations on the quality of products and services;
  • use CE marking – to indicate conformity with health, safety, and environmental protection standards for products and services.
