The international co-operation relations of "Vasile Alecsandri" University of Bacau have known a great increase over the years through the establishment of bilateral cooperation agreements with prestigious universities. Most of these agreements were concluded within the framework of the TEMPUS, SOCRATES-ERASMUS, LONGLIFE LEARNING PROGRAMS and ERASMUS + programmes.

Under the Erasmus + Key Action 1 (KA103) Program with the Program Countries (EU), the university has concluded around 140 inter-institutional Erasmus + agreements with over 107 universities, permanently renewed. Starting from preparatory visity started in the academic year 1998-1999 and the student mobility initiated in 1999-2000, the opening up to student mobility studies (SMS), student placement/traineeships mobilities (SMP), teaching assignment mobilities (STA) and staff training mobilities(STT) has seen an increasing trend lately. Students benefit from the full recognition and equivalence of credits gained abroad for studies (SMS), and optionally for placement/traineeship. 

Starting with the academic year 2015-2016, our university also runs the Erasmus +  Key Action 1 (KA107) with the Partner Countries (non-EU), benefiting from the exchanges of students, professors and staff from universities outside the European Union,  such as Belarus, Canada, Chile, Egypt, Malaysia, Republic of Moldova, Montenegro and South Africa.
